Fire Drill Execution at PT EBARA Indonesia
The fire drill was conducted using a realistic emergency scenario. The simulation followed several key stages:
1. Fire Indication
The drill began with an indication of fire in a designated work area. Employees were trained to quickly identify signs of danger and report them to the building coordinator.
2. Activation of the Emergency Alarm
After receiving the indication, the witness or building coordinator activated the emergency alarm as an official signal for all employees to stop work and prepare for evacuation.
3. Employee Evacuation to the Assembly Point
The Building Coordinator Team then guided employees to move immediately toward the assembly point using the predetermined evacuation routes.
Employees evacuated calmly, following instructions and prioritizing collective safety.
4. Initial Firefighting Using Fire Extinguishers
While evacuation took place, the Emergency Response Team attempted initial fire suppression using portable fire extinguishers (APAR).
5. Area Sweeping by Emergency & Security Teams
The Emergency Response and Security Teams performed a thorough sweep of all areas to ensure no employees were left behind or trapped.
6. First Aid Treatment
If the scenario included a “victim,” the First Aid Team (P3K) provided immediate assistance and helped transport the person to a safe location.
7. Extended Firefighting Using Hydrant
When the simulated fire escalated, the team performed extended suppression using the hydrant system, guided by trained personnel.
8. “All Clear” Declaration
Once the scenario was successfully completed, the leader of the drill announced “All Clear,” signifying that the situation was under control.
9. Employees Return to Work
Employees returned to their respective work areas in an orderly manner. A brief review was conducted to summarize the drill results.
Appreciation is extended to the HSE Team, Emergency Response Team, First Aid Team, Security Team, and all employees who participated and contributed to the success of this drill. Their dedication, coordination, and discipline played an essential role in ensuring the exercise was carried out safely, orderly, and in accordance with established procedures, further strengthening the company’s safety culture.
