EBARA 2030 GHG Emission Reduction Target Approved by SBTi

EBARA Corporation, the parent company of the EBARA Group, has received certification from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) that its 2030 greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets are science-based and aligned with the Paris Agreement.

Under its long-term vision, E-Vision 2030, established in 2020, the EBARA Group identified “comprehensive environmental management” as a key material issue and is actively working toward carbon neutrality.

Additionally, in its medium-term management plan, E-Plan 2025, the Group emphasizes ESG-oriented management, including initiatives to reduce environmental impact through products and services.

The EBARA Group has set GHG reduction goals to support the creation of a sustainable society while ensuring long-term business growth.

  • Reduce Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 55% from FY2018 levels by FY2030
    (Aligned with the 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement)

  • Reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions (Category 11) by 25% from FY2021 levels by FY2030
    (Aligned with the Well-Below 2°C pathway)

These targets have been approved by SBTi as short-term science-based targets.

The EBARA Group aims to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire value chain (Scope 1, 2, and 3) by 2050, through:

  • Promoting energy efficiency

  • Expanding the use of renewable energy

  • Improving the environmental performance of its products and services
